Lauren Conrad “Style”

When I was younger, I used to be an avid reader and would actually take on the tasks to finish lengthy materials super fast even if it meant getting some reading done at the dinner table or spending my summers at the local library. I loved where my books could take my imagination and how they made me feel. Throughout the years, school (in particular college) left a slight disdain for reading since it became more of a chore and not a hobby. I have made the choice today to get back to one of my favorite past times and enjoy reading just for the sake of it. Although it is more of a helpful guide versus a narrative “Style” by Lauren Conrad is a fun introductory easy read to get me back into the flow of things. I picked it up at my local Marshalls at a discounted price just merely based on the aesthetic appeal (great coffee table look) but quickly discovered that it actually had some awesome advice, guidelines, tips and tricks for the everyday girl interested in all things relating to fashion and beauty. Her simple yet chic look is broken down for even the basic beginner to be able to obtain as well as life and beauty hacks. From closet organization to choosing the right denim for your body type, this book has a little something for everyone and is an easy flowing read! Links below.

BH Cosmetics

Hey Everyone! I am back with a haul/review of a few things I picked up from BH Cosmetics. Many youtube beauty vloggers rave about this cosmetic and makeup tools line so I had to give them a try for myself. First and foremost I will say that they are super duper affordable and often have sales and coupon codes, (no breaking the bank here). The only downside is you can only purchase these products online, making it a bit difficult to be able to swatch colors. Luckily for you, I did just that!

I chose 4 colors to swatch. As you can see they are pretty much true to the shade in the palette. They apply a bit more sheer, so building on the color is recommended.

Pop art brush set caught my eye because of the fun colored handles. They are synthetic and soft to the touch. Big plus is that they DO NOT shed!

I've been loving the angled blush brush and this sort of dense tapered one (yellow handle) to add highlight to my upper cheek bones.

Eyes on the 60's is the name of this eyeshadow palette and I fell in love with the huge variety of colors it has.

I again chose 4 colors to swatch for you and as you can see they have a lot of pigment to them. Note: to further intensify color you can always add Mac fix plus or believe it or not eyedrops, just dip your eyeshadow brush in whichever solution you choose pick up some product add to your lids and boom! flawless color

And there you have it! I bought these 4 items and still managed to spend under $50 including shipping fees. Talk about a sweet deal! ( They had a 40% off deal going on a few weeks ago)

Below you will find the direct links to each of the products listen on this post. They also have others to choose from.

Happy shopping everyone!

Muji Acrylic Cases

Happy 2014 everyone! Cannot believe it is already a new year, where does the time fly? Once a new year rolls around the saying “out with the old in with the new” resurfaces across the lips of many people. I took that catch phrase and ran with it when I did my winter cleaning/organizing last week. My makeup and brushes were a priority for me because everything was all over the place leaving me no choice than to act like a mad woman while getting ready in the morning.

With that said, I’ve had these Muji Acrylic Cases for a long time but as I mentioned before my makeup wasn’t very organized. So I tackled this task by removing all of my makeup and categorizing everything for easier access.
These cases are clear and come with a pull out slot, you can also remove them completely if need be. I know that many people are obsessed with the CosmoCube (including me) but I quite frankly did not want to spend that amount of money on an organization tool and I also do not have enough space for them on my dresser. The Muji cases are a perfect size and they don’t break the bank (The 5 drawer one is the most expensive at $27.95).I also bought two of them for Ari as a Christmas present and she loved them! Here’s how I use them:

As for my brushes I cleaned out an old candle jar to place the bigger ones in and small mason jar to place my eyeshadow brushes in.
