Hey there loves! It’s been a while since I’ve come on here to talk about a new product, that is until now! I ordered one of the Kylie Lip Kits a few weeks ago, gave it a test run and am now ready to share my thoughts. Well here goes…
I purchased the shade 22 which is a gorgeous brunt orangey-red. The formula is very pigmented, has a creamy consistency and dries quickly (which doesn’t give you much room for error). The kit also includes a lip liner which helps perfect the edges of your lips and provide an adhesive base for the liquid lipstick.
The lipstick wore well for the first 4 hours but I noticed a little bit of flaking in the center of my lips towards the last hour. I then went on to eat and drink checked back on how it looked and most of the color in the center was gone. Reapplying isn’t a deal breaker for me, as long as the product doesn’t look too cakey afterward (which it didn’t).
Pros: Color pay off, creamy texture & comfortable to wear.
Cons: Flaking, Price tag ($29 for .11 oz / 3.25 mil)
Although I would recommend the liquid lipstick (if you’re willing to hash out $29 for it) I wouldn’t necessarily purchase another one.

Influenster has done it again! As some of you may know we are signed up to receive complimentary items from influenster in order to test and review them for our blog. For this week’s review we received goodies from the Estee Edit collection. Estee Edit is the spin off from the ever prominent brand Estee Lauder . Inspired by Estee and curated by varying guest editors this brand is trying to appeal to the younger generation and we’re not mad at it! The following items go as follows
Radiance Activator- Treat Prep Glow for Dryness and Dullness
Shows up on my face glittery (not a finely milled shimmer)
Doesn’t provide moisture nor even out my skin tone or brighten
Priced at $55 I do not believe it is necessarily worth it
Late Night Eraser Brightening Eye Balm with Pink Peony
Metal tip provided instant soothing and cooling +the shape was contoured perfectly to fit under the eye
Although it does brighten a lot, the micro pearls create a white cast on my dark circles. I don’t think this product is meant for darker skin. If you have pink undertones or your dark circles aren’t as severe than this may work best for you
Metallishadow Crème + Powder
The crème base is perfect to really ensure your color pops!
The color wild cosmos is highly pigmented and easy to blend
Inside Track Eye Kajal
Super pigmented and glides on extremely smooth and silky
Perfect combination of colors!
Overall I was a bit disappointed in the skin care products seeing as they are very pricey and didn’t necessarily deliver the anticipated results. The beauty/makeup products from the line seem to be a hit! Hope you guys enjoy this mini review, let us know if you would like swatches or looks done with these products in the comments below. The entire Estee Edit line is available at Sephora.
The lovely team at Influenster* sent us the new Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara and I couldn’t be more excited to try it, I’m all about voluminous lashes! Let’s get the logistics out of the way, it retails for $26 and is sold at Sephora, department stores and all major Marc Jacobs counters. The packaging is an all black multidimensional, lightweight tube. The formula is more on the dry side (which I prefer in a mascara) the consistency isn’t too thick or goopy making it a breeze to apply. The wand has many various sized bristles, perfect for getting in between your lashes. Here’s a closer look…
Although I loved the length it gave me, I feel it could have been more voluminous. I did only apply one coat (perhaps I needed to apply another one) but I normally don’t apply several coats of Mascara because I feel it clumps up. It did flake a little once I rubbed my eyes at the end of the day, but overall it’s a good formula and I would recommend it.
Here I am running errands wearing the mascara. So far so good!

Liquid lipsticks are all the rave at the moment, which means I had to test some of these bad boys out for myself. Loads of makeup brands have launched their own versions of these long wearing formulas including the fairly new brand Colourpop. Known for their fun notes and holographic packaging, Colourpop has delivered some great products thus far, including the ultra matte lipsticks. Here’s my honest opinion (based on the two shades I purchased).
Pros: very pigmented, about 4-5 hour wear, great price ($6)
Cons: dries very quickly, can flake a bit
Now let me elaborate on my cons. The texture/formulation is really thin and liquidy, which is why I feel that they dry quickly, you don’t have much time to work with the product once applied on the lips. Now on to flaking, this happened to me because I made a mistake applying it the first time, figured I could just add another layer but after it dried it began to flake off a bit. Basically you have to be quick and precise with these. I will also say that as many other liquid lipstick formulas these are drying but it’s nothing a little lip balm underneath can’t fix.
Chocolate brown on top is Limbo, Mauve/Rosey on the bottom is Tulle.
Overall I feel that for the low price of $6 these are a really good buy. I’ve tried some higher end ones that feel the same way so why not save a few dollars, right?
Hope these swatches were of help for those wanting to purchase any of these shades. Which are you favorite liquid lipsticks? Leave comments and suggestions down below.
Lipstick is one beauty item I most definitely cannot live without (then followed up with mascara as a close second). It can be used on your cheeks for a pop of color when you are in a pinch and can brighten up any dull face to look alive and healthy. I don’t discriminate when it comes to lip products and can appreciate both high end and drugstore brands for what they offer. Influenster was gracious enough to send me two new YSL lip rouge products to test out for our readers! Disclaimer* although these items were sent for review, my opinions and thoughts are mine. Obviously being YSL, the packaging is pristine and I was so giddy opening up the package. The two colors shown are both Rouge Pur Couture in numbers 9 (rose stiletto) and 19 (fuchsia). Retailing at $36 these babies have a high shine satin finish, intense pigmentation and hydration for the lips. I have swatched them below for my ladies out there with my specific skin tone. Pros
• Intensely Pigmented
• Finish Cons
• A little pricey (to be expected with a higher end brand)
• The smell is a little bit strong and distracting (in my opinion)
Thanks to influenster for this amazing treat, I can now add these luxurious “grown up” lipsticks to my collection!
Rose Stiletto (09)- On my skin tone it is a perfect rose nude for everyday purposes.
Fuchsia (19) The perfect hue of pink for a fun pop of color.
Sephora Favorites collections are such great gifts to receive/give. My best friend bought this for me as a birthday gift and I am just trying it out (I know, shocking because my birthday was a little over a month ago). This set comes with Sephora’s most popular lip products to date, 5 of them in deluxe sizes and 1 full size lipstick. Let’s take a closer look…
From Left to Right: Marc Jacobs lipstick #238 in Je T’Aime, Fresh tinted lip treatment in Rosé, Makeup Forever artist plexi gloss in #202, Tarte Amazonian butter lipstick in Coral Blossom (full sized) Kat Von D everlasting liquid lipstick in Lolita and lastly Sephora rouge infusion lip stain in the shade peony.
*Swatched in the same order below*
Once again this kit is perfect for anyone looking to try out some new lip products without comitting to one color or breaking the bank. At only $25 you’re able to try out a variety of different finishes as well as shades. Sephora you have done it once again!

Below are the pictures I was able to get before and after the Sierra Marie youtube star mayhem ensued at the Teen Vogue back to school event at the Florida mall. As I previously blogged I was chosen for the VIP portion and was able to get a sneak peak into all the fun prior to the panel fashion show. I am so glad I was able to attend and receive goodies and a gift card to be able to implement some of the inspiration displayed at the event. Whether it be the 70’s vibe or mixing and matching prints (my favorite) this school year is sure to be one for the books! You to can be VIP at a teen vogue BTSS event at a mall near you! It was amazing to meet Elaine Welteroth (teen vogue beauty and health director) and revisit blogger/stylist Melanie Pace. Check out the link below for the rest of the mall tour and how to apply.

Luxury cosmetic brands are typically out of my reach seeing as I can’t justify spending the same amount on one thing versus being able to obtain more items (more is more people). In comes influenster! They have graciously sent over the YSL vox box including two brand new YSL cosmetic products to test out for our readers. Disclaimer* Although these items were sent for review, my opinions and thoughts are mine. To start off, the touche eclat blur primer serves many purposes. It can be used as a luxurious base for any foundation or alone to even out the skin tone on a makeup-less day.
Touche Eclat Blur Primer
-Super velvety and smooth -Shimmer/Glitter is very visible worn alone
-Non-comedogenic -Slight residue feeling
-Blurs imperfections and minimizes large pores
The second product sent over was the Touche Eclat Blur Perfector. This compact is meant to transform from a balm to a powder to soften the skinds imperfections, mattify and set makeup.
Touche Eclat Blur Pefector
-Beautiful Packaging -Not great to initially set makeup with (I prefer a setting spray
-Universal for all skin-tones
-Can be used for touch ups throughout the day
(not to initially set makeup)
If I were to repurchase one item it would definitely be the perfector seeing as it doubles as a compact and works great for so many purposes.
I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again “I need full and thick eyebrows”! It’s so hard to grow them out especially in the summer where covering them up with bangs isn’t really an option due to the sweltering NYC heat. A few months ago I tried the Maybelline Brow Drama, but as I stated on my post I wasn’t a huge fan of the brush and felt that it didnt distribute any color on my brows. As you know this makeup addict will continue the search for the perfect product… In comes L’Oreal!
L’Orealstylist brow plumper is a fiber infused gel which adheres to the brow hairs creating a fuller but natural look. The mascara like wand fills in the sparse areas for an even coating throughout your brow hairs. First you start off with clean brows. Then work the wand in upward strokes following the shape of your natural hair. Comb through to blend and voilà your brows will begin to appear plumper.
I still love to fill in my eyebrows using pencils but for days when I’m in a rush and can’t take the time to sculpt and carve them out the L’Orealstylist brow plumper is the way to go! I purchased my first one while in London and was hoping that it would be available in the U.S as well. Just my luck I found it at my local Rite Aid a few days ago. Medium/Dark was the shade I thought would suit me best.
Hope you all enjoyed this mini review. What are some of your favorite brow enhancing products?
