My thoughts when casually strolling through Just Fabs website after seeing these shoes were “I NEED THESE NOW” and “ADD TO CART IMMEDIATELY”. I had never had a just fab membership prior to this purchase and because of being a first time subscriber I got a major discount on this unique pair of heels. They are a cross between a pump, sandal and gladiator style and add major interest to any outfit. I will admit I had a hard time at first pairing these with anything in my wardrobe because they are such a standout focal point and they were competing with my other elaborate choices. I finally settled on the basics, denim boyfriend shorts from the Gap, grey turtle neck and round eye sunnies to ward off the rays. They are a bit high and the arch is killer so I wouldn’t recommend these for a night out or to be walking or standing for too long, but the strap going all the way up the calf provides a great supporting feeling. Also I had trouble adjusting the straps to be as tight as possible (hence why some of them are slipping) I wish it would have come with more pre-punched holes. I absolutely love these and they will remain in my closet as my “art for my feet” knockout stars that I can pull out when I want to stand out. Links to items below!
This last installment of my “Fall” into the 90’s mini-series (check out the previous two here and here) is inspired by the Tommy Hilfiger takeover of the late 90’s urban community. Although hip-hop and the iconic brand have had their ups and downs, the selling power of that magical time cannot be denied. Every “cool” celebrity rocked Tommy Hilfiger and his business expanded as more and more adopted the trend. I absolutely love and adore specifically how the late Aaliyah would wear her Hilfiger gear and it is where I drew my inspiration from for this outfit. She looked tomboy-ish and comfortable but still effortless sexy and urban. I found both the Tommy Hilfiger boyfriend jeans and undies (boy’s size) at my local tjmaxx both on clearance! I spent less than $20 and I couldn’t be happier. In order to give it the “fall” element I wore my sturdy wheat timberlands as well as threw on a sweater crop top that happened to coordinate with my color scheme. Most of the pieces for my mini fall series came from my own closet and were items I could mix and match to get the 90’s aesthetic. Check out similar items below!
For the second post of the “Fall” into the 90’s 3 part series I wanted to go for a more sportier look then the first. I found this sweatshirt dress on clearance at H&M and have been able to style it so many ways ever since! In thinking about by the 90’s I went the more urban route and paired it with my nike air max sneakers, holographic clutch and can’t forget my tribal tattoo spiral choker set complete with ring and bracelet. I used to rock these chokers in so many different colors and styles back in the day! This dress is super versatile and can also be worn belted with heels for a chilly fall night out on the town. The cute yellow socks with heart print detail are from forever 21 and are best worn on a less cold evening since they are very thin. Check out the bottom for similar items and links.
Excuse the lack of nail polish…I am trying to grow these babies out!
What could be better then the weather cooling down? I say continuing to rock those summer 90’s trends straight into the colder months, saving time and money in your pocket! I decided to start a mini 3 part post series called “Fall into the 90’s” so I could get the most bang for my buck and wear some of my favorite pieces from the ongoing 90’s trend straight into the fall season. Here is my attempt at recreating an iconic look from the movie “Clueless” starring Alicia Silverstone as the fashionable Cher Horowitz. This classic cult film inspired me to get creative and reuse some old items I had in the back of my closet. The v-neck long-sleeved top is a basic from target, while the jumpsuit is from the brand “Max Rave” purchased ages ago. For this look the accessories say it all, the knee-high socks with frill detail, sun flower choker, combat boots, and clear clutch all give the look the 90’s aesthetic without being to gimmicky or overpowering. I am obsessed with matching sets and acquiring as many as I can for the upcoming warmer season. Not only are they incredibly stylish and provide an instant cohesive look, they are so easy to throw on and run out the door! Just find your pair and you’re ready to go. I usually go with minimal jewelry if the set has a busy pattern but play it up a little more if we are working with solids and textures. Check out my previous monochromatic take on this look and below are some links to ones I’m currently lusting after. Shorts, skirts, pants, blazers, crops tops, monochromatic or patterned the possibilities are endless! Click on the photos for links.

Staying on the short and sweet trend, this look was created somewhere from the depth of my little soul where I still am that regular Spanish girl from Queens but with a twist! I love these loose-fitting sweat pants with … Continue reading →
I absolutely love the comeback of the grunge/hiphop/comfort vibe of the 90’s. This trend can be interpreted in so many different ways! You can take it to completely different sides of the spectrum and rock “lilith fair” florals or get straight up gangster on everyone and wear rap inspired baggy pieces and blingy jewlery. The coming and going of seasonal concerts also adds spark to the trend (coachella, ultra etc) and these looks can bring out the edgier side of anyone. Seen on stars like Cassie this trend is not for the meek as it entails bold statement pieces and larger than life accesories. Combat boots, beanies, track pants, graphic tees, muscle tanks, flower head pieces, jean jackets, overalls, plaid and so much more! The 90’s were all about comfort (take reebox classics with high tube socks for instance), care free attitude and disregard for the “fashion rules”. Please refer to my Urban 90’s rooots post for another personal twist on the look.
