“Fall” into the 90’s- Clueless Edition

What could be better then the weather cooling down? I say continuing to rock those summer 90’s trends straight into the colder months, saving time and money in your pocket! I decided to start a mini 3 part post series called “Fall into the 90’s” so I could get the most bang for my buck and wear some of my favorite pieces from the ongoing 90’s trend straight into the fall season. Here is my attempt at recreating an iconic look from the movie “Clueless” starring Alicia Silverstone as the fashionable Cher Horowitz. This classic cult film inspired me to get creative and reuse some old items I had in the back of my closet. The v-neck long-sleeved top is a basic from target, while the jumpsuit is from the brand “Max Rave” purchased ages ago. For this look the accessories say it all, the knee-high socks with frill detail, sun flower choker, combat boots, and clear clutch all give the look the 90’s aesthetic without being to gimmicky or overpowering. The “Ugly” Sandal Pt.1

This post is long overdue seeing as summer is almost over but I finally got the chance to photograph and style the look! Birkenstock sandals have been seen on everyone from fashion bloggers and celebrities alike. Why would anyone want to wear these “ugly” sandals you ask? Well for one they are incredibly comfortable! Unlike a lot of summer sandals I buy and toss after one summer of use here in sunny Florida, these babies will last you and are incredibly versatile. I personally don’t think they are ugly at all but was just intimidated by some of the pricing. Unless you score a great sale, they can run you upwards to $150. In comes this faux pair! I found these in Target and they are from the Sam & Libby collection (Sam Edelman and his daughter’s line). The Ashland Sandal features less cork than the original birks and stud details but still have the same aesthetic of the cross thick adjustable straps. While I save up for Birks perhaps in the near future these are an amazing alternative. For the price they cant be beat! I styled it with a silk blue button up, white Ann Taylor shorts and my Kate Spade chain link bag. Links below!

July 4th Outfit Inspo

Happy Independance day to all of my fellow Americans! I am so excited to be able to share some outfit inspiration for this awesome day, but mainly happy for the day off from work. Who wouldnt be looking forward to gorging oneself on barbeque food, watching fire works and wearing fun patriotic themed items? This year I decided to tone down my previous enthusiam (ie tattoo american flag lips) and went for a more subtle approach in showing my support. My camo skinnies serve as a “neutral” base while also representing for our troops, American flag canvas flats are old season target and my crisp white button up finish off the look. Gwen packs for Puerto Rico

Hey Everyone! So as you previously read my sister and I are going on a very much needed trip. We are so excited to see each other and will hopefully be able to snap a few photos of us together.
Although my packing technique is not as organized as Ari’s I’d like to believe that it is also a good method when trying to figure out what to bring along with you on a trip. So what I generally do is look at all of my products (hair, skin, makeup) and say to myself “will I really use this?” if my answer is no I obviously keep looking, if my answer is yes I place that item aside. Now another thing to consider when traveling is the climate of your destination as well as the duration of your stay. I snapped a few photos of what I will be taking for this trip (Sorry they are not tucked in neatly in my suitcase, I still haven’t officially packed Yikes!)

Suncare

Suncare

First order of business is of course suncare! Sunscreen/Sunblock is very much needed when out and about in the sun all day.

Personal Hygiene

Personal Hygiene

I know that most hotels and resorts provide lotion, shampoo conditioner and all that good stuff, but I personally like to bring my own things. I normally just buy small clear bottles and pour the product in.

Hair Care

Hair Care

Because we are going to be in the pool or beach most of the time, curly hair will be the way to go.

Skincare

Skincare

My skin hasn’t been behaving lately so I am taking a small bottle of acne cleanser and of course can’t forget my dirt, oil and makeup removing wipes.

Makeup

Makeup

This may seem like a lot of products but I did add a few items for the nights when we get all dolled up for a night on the town. My daytime essentials will most likely be my cc cream (which has spf), mascara, my brow wiz, a peachy blush and a lip butter or stain. Also check out a great travel piece for storing small items (like makeup) that Ive mentioned in a previous post from Sonia Kashuk. It is affordable and available at any target near you in varying prints and styles.

Hopefully this helped all of you traveling this summer to get an idea of what you should or shouldn’t bring with you.

Puerto Rico here we come!
Hasta Luego

Gap Boyfriend Denim Shorts

On my last post I shared my outfit from the grand opening of the Gap at Millenia Mall and getting to meet Melanie Pace. I was actually on the hunt for some boyfriend jeans but when I arrived I was distracted by the sale on all shorts! Naturally I gravitated towards the “boyfriend” section and fell in love with this light wash pair. They are super comfortable, 100% durable cotton and feature slight distressing/fringe and rolled up cuffs. I am still going back for the original long pair but these are a perfect addition to any summer wardrobe. I paired them with my studded Target sandals, a plain black button up from The Limited and my black crochet Old Navy purse that I’ve had for ages. For a different aesthetic throw on an actual white tee from your boyfriend (was going to be my second option). Check these bad boys out in all the different washes they have to offer. Links at the bottom as always!

Grand Opening OOTD-Gap At Millenia Mall, Orlando FL

This weekend was a fun-filled event at the Mall of Millenia Grand re-opening of the GAP store. Held from 12-5pm the store featured select denim and dresses on sale for 50% off, snacks, musical talents from a DJ, photo booth and many raffles and prizes to be won. I went to check out the sales but also to be able to meet the lovely Fashion Guru Melanie Pace. She holds so many hats in the industry and is local born and raised here in Orlando! She was incredibly sweet in person and her website is now one of my newest obsessions to rave about. Check her out at http://blog.melaniepace.com/. I am wearing a matching striped suit from Target (old season), red pumps from forever 21, and my quilted Kate Spade bag to polish off the look. Top knot and camera in tow I captured these images to share with you guys. Links to items down below!

Downtown Orlando Fashion Week 14′- Day 1 OOTN

Florida Fashion Weekend kicked off May 9 with a two day event filled with fashion and fun. I was happy to be able to get on the media list for the pre- show mixer hosted at Jai Gallery to get a look at the models before hand. I have never attended an event like this before and had no idea what to expect. I went with these bold yet sophisticated statement making basketball shorts that I recently ordered from ASOS. This “river island” piece kills the tough task of making shorts chic by adding a touch of sheer element. Everyone and everyone was giving me compliments the entire night and I even got mistaken for one of the models (correction because of my shorts clearly not my height, a girl can only dream). I paired them with a white quilted crop sweater from H&M and my amazing shoe cult by nasty gal heels. Sleek straight hair and my go to Phillip lim bag completed my overall aesthethic and I was ready to take on the night! Stay tuned for pics from the actual show. Links to items below!

Spring has sprung!

Hey Everyone! Not sure if where you live you are able to experience the joys of all four seasons, but here in the big apple we have finally managed to break away from a grueling winter and are slowly but surely welcoming Spring!
My favorite part about the weather changing is of course wearing less layers of clothing, adding more pops of color into my wardrobe and wearing fun and fresh makeup. I created a bright look to go along with Ari’s Spring Duo outfit.

Main products I used.

Main products I used.

First I mixed the Loreal lumi foundation with the Revlon illuminizer in order for my face to be nice and dewy. Second I applied the Loreal magic lumi concealer/highlight pen (using the beauty blender for both). Third I used the entire Physicians Formula eyeshadow palette (on the right) so the colors would appear multi dimensional. Fourth I lined my bottom lash line with the Jordana mint eyeliner and smudged it out with a teal color in the BH cosmetics 60’s palette (not pictured, find link below). Lastly to give my self a sun-kissed glow I dabbed Sonia Kashuk’s bare illuminating bronzer to the area where I would normally place my highlight (above cheek bone). I finished off this look with Loreal’s voluminous mascara and a nude lip.

I also changed my lip color to a fun pink shade adding vibrancy to my already bright eyes

Pewter Power OOTD

These target pumps finally got to see the light of day as I’ve had them in my closet for some time. I got them on clearance for the low low price of $8.98! I mean can we say bargain people? In trying to incorporate more pieces in my wardrobe that can work for both my day job as well as everyday life, these snake-skin pewter pumps can be paired with an array of looks for both since they are closed toe and have a relatively low heel. For a casual weekend I went with a black button up (old season forever 21), white ann taylor shorts,my Kate Spade nude quilted bag and my hair straight for a sleek vibe. These lovelies are from the Sam & Libby Collection and are still available online and perhaps for cheaper at a target near you! They also come in black and nude for a more classic take on the look. Classic Fall Look

Although the cold weather was very short lived, here I have a fall appropriate outfit for those lovelies that have to endure actual cold temperatures during this season. Even though Im back in my shorts and tops for the moment, it was great to make use of some of my autum pieces that Ive had in my closet. This knit a-line shift dress is old season from target (Kirna Zabete line) and I paired it with classic patterened tights and high black wedge boots. If its really cold and a turtle neck wont suffice, I threw on my old cozy peacoat. The pastel pink softens the look and contrast the subtle leather details in the dress and boots. Last but certainly not least my new beautiful bag was purchased at Marshalls! Such an amazing find. This Kate Spade chain link bag is neutral and the quilted pattern makes me feel like I have my own little Chanel. I love the simplicity and classic appeal that it will bring to any outfit from here on out.
