Lust Vs. Must- Fall Sweaters

I am loving a statement sweater for this upcoming fall season! Embellishments, tailoring, style and type of material all make for eclectic looks that can be incorporated and worn throughout the season. Some of my favorites would be classic v-neck cuts, embellishments (to avoid having to overload with accessories), long lengths and chunky knits. One doesnt need to spend lots of money to achieve this classic fall look, check out my previous D.I.Y sweater post and see how I made a $2.00 pullover into something wearable and fun! Drop Crotch Faux Leather Pants

Casual relaxed days are the best as the seasons are slowly but surely shifting. I love giving myself an edgier look on days when its a little overcast and I am able to wear different fabrics that would normally make me melt in the Florida sun otherwise. These drop crotch faux leather sweat pants were purchased on my birthday trip to New York at necessary clothing boutique in Soho. I haven’t had the chance to wear them seeing as they would literally stick to my skin in 95 degree weather. The slight difference between harem and drop crotch is that harem pants have overall volume on the sides as well as a lowered rise. Drop crotch pants are typically fitted throughout the hips and only feature an extended crotch (no overall bagginess on the sides). I paired them with a comic strip print crop top from rainbow, target studded Sam & Libby sandals and my clear chain link clutch from eBay. Links below!

My girl Autumn… pt 2

Hey Everyone I’m Back! Part two of the “My girl Autumn” series is Fall nail polish. What better and might I add easy way to dive into the new season than by adding some cool hues to your hands and toes, it’s like an instant pick me up!(well for me it is anyway). This season it is all about metallics, dark navy’s and bold berry’s. Here are my top five must have picks.

From Left to right: Sally Hansen "Teal-y Fast" & "Shoot the Moon", Revlon "Rich Raspberry", Essie "For the twill of it" & "No more film

From Left to right: Sally Hansen “Teal-y Fast” & “Shoot the Moon”, Revlon “Rich Raspberry”, Essie “For the twill of it” & “No more film

“Teal-y fast” is an amazing teal with lots of shimmer that reflects beautifully in sunlight.
“Shoot the moon” has a graphite look to it thanks to the smooth metallic particles in pewter and gold which also reflect amazingly in direct light.
“Rich Raspberry” is described perfectly, as it has a true berry “richness” to it.
“For the twill of it” is a multi chromed metallic which gives off pops of teal and purple, it is such a gorgeous color!
“No more film” has more of a creamy texture and it is a deep blue-ish violet.

What’s great about nail polishes is that there is no need to worry about sizing or a right fit, find a great color, layer it on and you’re pretty much set!
You can find these as well as other colors at your local Walmart or drugstore. Ulta is also great at carrying the most current colors.

Stay tuned for my last post in the My girl Autumn series… here’s a hint: This item will give you an edge while keeping you warm.

Sam & Libby/ Target Clearance Shoes

Clearance sale!!!!! Any clearance items at target have got to be my favorite. Not only do they mark down their prices by large percentages, they also have them in the system so even if your item has been marked down further than the sticker price, you wont miss out on a lower bargain when you check out! I always peruse the aisles for any new scores and sure enough I found the jackpot. Sam Edelman and his daughter collabed for a target collection of fun sandals and heels. Most of the sandals (including regular mossimo target brand) were all on clearance marked down as low as $7.00. I had to jump on the chance since I am basically in sandals year round. Here are the ones I went for. (Although I am contemplating going back and purchasing three more). Links at the bottom (I found them for much cheaper at the actual store). They are all neutral and can be paired to be dressed up or down.

Simple & Cute D.I.Y Sweater

As most of you may know I am a sucker for all things target and especially their clearance (as most normal girls are). I have found the most amazing things ever on sale! exhibit A: These purple sweaters! I bought these a while ago (one for me and one for my sister) and have been holding on to them for a while in order to find some materials and inspiration to jazz them up. These Hanes pullover fleece lined sweaters were marked down to an incredible $2.00! Although it is warm in Fl, feeling cozy with a cute sweater (even at home with central AC) is always a must. I decided to go for gold studs to add a little bit of interest to the plain staple pieces. Silver or even Black spikes/studs would have worked as well!

I purchased a set of 100 gold rivet studs from eBay. They are available in many different colors and styles (spikes, flat tops, round or even star-shaped!) Try watching multiple listings at once to be able to get the best deal on a value pack. They can also be purchased at any craft/fabric store (I found silver ones at Hobby Lobby) but not for wholesale.

I eyeballed the placement of the studs around the collar (feel free to measure if you want a perfect distance between each stud). I like the fact that they are a little bit uneven in the spacing, I feel it gives it a little character. After you have an idea of where each stud should go, individually stick the prongs face down directly into the fabric (avoid seams as those tend to be thick and hard to push through).

It should look like this in the back of your garment.

Then grab some tweezers and push each prong down and inward (as to not poke yourself with them when you put the item on). Make sure it’s completely down and smooth so it wont budge with washing.

Nixon- “The Dash” Watch …Old Season’s Treasure!

I rarely like to shop at stores like ROSS just due to the sheer amount of unorganization and things to look at. I usually much prefer TJMAXX since Ive found that it has higher quality finds and more fluidity to the store. However, this week I was extremely bored and decided to pop in a ROSS store after not having any luck at Target or Old Navy in my favorite plaza. To my surprise I found this awesome NIXON digital watch on sale for $22.00! I almost nearly knocked over the entire counter with my excitement. Not only will it make a cute summer statement piece (with its casual rubber band) but you also cannot beat the price for a quality authentic watch. You can throw it on with some cute stackable pieces to create fun “arm candy” or leave it alone for a more sporty casual look. According to my research “The Dash” digital watch is from a couple seasons ago (roughly Spring 2011) but nontheless I am ecstatic to add it to my collection.

It is still available online on places like amazon, ebay and shopnbc
